Introduction

Manchester Crematorium was first opened in 1892 – only the second in this country.

We are proud of our long history and over the years we have always offered sympathy and comfort to those who have been bereaved. We hope we can also be of help and support to you.

Many people find it a great comfort to have their own special memorial somewhere in our gardens or inside, for example, in our Scroll Room.

They appreciate the opportunity of being able to visit and to be able to spend time nearby in quiet thought, in prayer and in remembrance.

Our Services

Funeral Services

If a service has already taken place at a place of worship, this may be followed by a brief ‘committal’ ceremony at the Crematorium.

Religious Ceremonies

Manchester Crematorium welcomes funerals of all faiths and denominations. The crematorium allows each funeral a time slot of forty minutes.

Non-Religious Ceremonies

Manchester Crematorium welcomes funerals of a non-religious nature. The crematorium allows each funeral a time slot of forty minutes.
